Meet The Team

Here’s a little bit more information about our amazing team.

Bethany White (BA Hons, RAD RTS, IDTA, AA)

School Director / Dance Teacher 

Miss Bethany started dancing at the age of 3. She has taught and choreographed for many other dance and gymnastics display team. Bethany studied at Northumbria University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Dance. Then specialising in teaching training for 2 years with the Royal Academy of Dance & then progressing onto becoming an established teacher with the International Dance Teachers Association and Acrobatic Arts. Miss B launched our toddler & parent programme, Moving With My Mini which has been a huge success. Her favourite part of running BW Dance Works is definitely showtime!! Even though its the hardest time, its the most rewarding!

Katie Hughes (BA Hons, AA)

Dance Teacher

Katie started dancing at the age of 2 with her sister (Miss Megan!) At the age of 18 she began her professional training, where she gained her modern dance teaching qualification in Edinburgh. After graduating in 2015 Katie has been extremely lucky to perform all around the world on various cruise ships contracts. She is has gained her degree in Dance and Drama through Kingston University. Miss Katie completed her Acrobatic Arts teacher training in April 2025. Teaching multiple styles over multiple days in multiple branches, we would be lost without her!

Alex Duff (BA Hons)

Dance Teacher

Alex trained in BA (Hons) Musical Theatre in Edinburgh. She has previously spent two summers living in Greece teaching dance and theatre to young ages. Alex has a passion for dance fitness too and recently launched a bunch of adult classes around Edinburgh. You can find her at @dancefitnessedinburgh online! She loves to encourage a fun, positive and creative energy in class and is excited to meet all of our dancers as she brings the energy on Friday afternoons! 

Nicola Paterson

Dance Teacher and Administration

Miss Nicola started dancing at the age of 4 and loved a variety of styles! Nicola began assisting in classes at her local dance school at the age of 15. You’ll find Miss Nicola in classes on Friday, Saturdays and Sundays as also studies full time to become a Primary School Teacher.
Miss Nicola is also the friendly face behind the emails! Assisting Miss B with all enquiries and keeping things running smooth behind the scenes. 

Megan Hughes

Dance Teacher

Megan started dancing at the age of 3 with her sister (Miss Katie!) and fell in love with it. Miss Megan left school to study dance in Edinburgh and achieved her HNC and HND in Performance in Stage Dance. Miss Megan then danced all over the world including Egypt! You’ll find Miss Megan delivering Acro on Saturdays to some of our younger dancers. Miss Megan has a tiny dancer of her own, we love when her 2 year old daughter pops into say ‘hello!’ and have a boogie.
